Yipee, we have our E-pics with Jen on Thursday afternoon. I'm really excited for our shoot, we don't have that many "good" pics of both of us, so I'm glad we have this opportunity. I've been scouring the net for inspiration and this is what I've found so far. I'm really loving the shadow shots, and I know for our urban shots I'll want lots of B&W pics. If you have any ideas for me PLEASE send them my way.

Oops...I forgot about Mr. Bloggy!
Hi everyone, I'm still alive; I just forgot about Mr. Bloggy. After getting a new laptop, (Thanks Uncle Sam) I totally forgot to start updating again. I've been off of work on disability leave for a couple of months now, so after giving my body time to heal and re-new itself, I'm ready to start wedding planning again! I've gotten quite a bit done in the past few weeks, but I'll spread those details over several posts. Just wanted to give a quick update that I'm still around. :)

RIP Laptop
So my laptop died, again. Luckily, I was smart enough to back up all of my files, and most of my wedding stuff is safe. However, until I get another computer, blog posts will be sporadic, as I need to borrow a computer. Exciting news, we did have engagement pictures taken over the weekend and I can't wait to see the proofs. Genivive took them for us, be sure to check out her blog for our preview.

Dreaming about the Cruise

I've been thinking about our honeymoon a lot lately. Our weather in MI has been so COLD lately, it was -1 when I woke up at 9:30 today, now at 7pm we're at a whole 19. I can't wait to be back in the sun and sand, and at such a perfect time too. We will be going on a Norwegian cruise to the southern caribbean. There is only one stop that we have done before, Tortola.
The only thing that I'm not looking forward to is the fact that we aren't leaving right after the wedding for the honeymoon, we have 2.5 months before we go. But, I think we'll be better off. This way we are going on the trip that we want and not settling for something just because it is available. Also, we will be able to experience being newlyweds and then relax on vacation.
Our cruise will be 9 days and I'm hoping we will be able to build in an extra travel day on both ends. We will be visiting: Samana, Tortola, Antigua, St. Lucia, St. Kitts, and Miami. We will have three full days at sea as well, so I'm hoping to work on my tan and do nothing but relax those days.

Our Beautiful Church

Today, I'd like to share with you where we will be getting married. We will be getting married in my church, the Cathedral of St. Andrew. I've only been attending St. Andrew since my church merged with the cathedral last summer. The church is seriously breathtaking, I can't believe I will be getting married here, I feel like I should have to be royalty or something to be able to get married here!
We're not doing much decor wise in the church, let's face it, it doesn't need much. The only thing I'm considering is something to bring down the focus to us in pictures, possibly a candle cluster or maybe a fern.

Possible Monogram

I've been home sick a lot lately, and have started to play with monograms. Here is the first that I somewhat like. I want to punch it up somehow but don't want to loose the classic/elegant-ness I have going.
Any ideas?

Flowers
I met with an amazing florist today, Jenn of Modern Day Floral. For the first time, a vendor understood the look we were going for and the vibe we want to create! I was ecstatic! She had so many great ideas, and even better has ways for those dreams to hopefully become reality. I've had to learn that my taste is much richer than my pocketbook; but I know if I set my mind to it, I can have the wedding of my dreams on our realistic budget. I can't wait to see what Jenn comes up with. I'm still going to meet with two other florists to compare ideas and pricing and see what is feasible for both our budget and the ambiance we are looking to create. This bouquet is from a wedding Jenn did recently, and I fell in love. If my bouquet looks any bit as good as this bouquet, I will be one happy bride! :)
